ODDA 27 Laura Ponte
The excitement of the shows, receiving those invites with your name on it, and being granted the access to discover some of the designers and creatives you have always admired; now, they are right there, proposing new trends, new creative ways for us all to express ourselves with clothes, small tools for the home or even furniture. The music you never knew you actually liked, for example, by creatives such as Michel Gaubert, opening his studio for us in this new issue, to the sets crafted by amazing minds, the models and how they impersonate the designer’s desire to connect body and soul.
You won’t know, but I’m a very private person, even my closest friends don’t know what I'm exactly thinking or going through. Talking about how I feel or what I like or don’t, is not an easy task for me. Back in 2023, while in Paris for Fashion Week, it was Loewe day and the first time I had tears coming through my eyes while watching a collection. Jonathan Anderson elevates Fashion to an absolutely delicious taste of reality, art, lifestyle and soul; I couldn’t resist to release my admiration for him, this industry and my level of appreciation for this career I have chosen–or, perhaps the career chose me… Thanks to him and the house, I discovered artist Genta Ishizuka, one of the artists the Maison has collaborated with in recent years. He lives near Kyoto, Japan, and we explore his craft for the new issue while envisioning his creative process through his pieces in progress.
Gauthier Gallet was the precursor of the “Fashion System” plethora of Front Rows, Celebrities, Star Editors, the designers changing the landscape of the fashion industry and the top models, illustrating the most memorable historical archive of the years Fashion was building the base for what is today. As an ode to his craft, we explore his sublime work and connect the past with the present and future, discovering through the hand of the hyper talented photographer Francesc Planes his modern take of our current era and, in a way, “how” people feel about us and what they see while attending the past Men’s S/S 2025 and Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-25. He captures fans, buyers and VIPs in some of the most acclaimed shows of the season.
The industry has changed so, so much since I started back in 2010, but, at the same time, many things remain, and will remain, the same. Fashion now has become a cultural phenomenon where everybody wants a piece. With that in mind, we started ODDA 27 under the quote “Life is a Runway” as a definition of us as individuals, out there in the world, connecting the industry and the decisions we make, how we drive our lives or what we stand for.
The expression “Frequent Flyer” is something that I had no idea what was about until I started as Editor in Chief at ODDA. I was barely flying in my 20s and now it’s weird if I’m not in an aircraft somewhere in the world. Obviously, my admiration for aviation started very early in my life, particularly with one aircraft, the Concorde, and well… you always have to get to the Runway before you take off… And so, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to look back in our memories for this incredible machine. Capable of taking you from London to New Yor

Capable of taking you from London to New York in under three hours–you do some meetings in the city and return to London the same evening. With the comeback of the Supersonic Flights happening soon, we speak with British Airways, Boom Supersonic and NASA about what’s going to change for us and why, as well as exploring with Gucci the new era of the fashion house under the creative helm of Sabato de Sarno.
“Pescetrullo” is the location chosen for our special story with the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2024-25 collection. A magic place created by the late Gaetano Pesce in the South of Italy. Tokyo is where we meet the one and only Kengo Kuma, the mind behind The Tokyo Edition Toranomon and Ginza, our chosen location for the preview story featuring COMME des GARÇONS S/S 2025, where heritage and modernity come together.
In the years of late, the “Running culture” has become a phenomenon addressed by the biggest Fashion houses, as well as many models and creatives becoming enthusiasts for this “way of life,” helping to balance the mind and body while keeping up with the schedules we all have. We speak with Clément Laguardia, Julian Weigl and athlete Antoine Ferranti about how they started and why, as well as their own brands…

This and so much more is somehow a chosen life. At the end of the day, when you wake up, you decide what to get for breakfast, where to go and what agenda you will follow. Somehow, that’s a straight line, a direction you choose and a path to follow… Put some great music on, walk down the “aisle” while drinking your coffee and make your life a RUNWAY!
